"Breakdancing" Core Twist

I loved this move that I learned in my last ALTR class, so I wanted to share it with y’all! It’s great for improving balance and core strength, and also works your legs and shoulders. It almost looks like breakdancing, which is how I chose its name!

Here’s how to do it:

Start on your hands and knees in a tabletop position with hands under your shoulders and knees under your hips. Tuck your toes and slightly float your knees up so they hover a few inches off the floor.

Shift your weight toward your right hand and twist your body to the left, straightening and lifting your right leg to the side and reaching toward it with your left hand. Return to center, then switch sides.

To modify, you can gently set your knees down in between sides as I do toward the end in the video. If you feel wobbly, you can also keep both hands planted and just twist from your core to extend your legs toward the opposite side.
