Pumpkin butter and apple cinnamon bread are a great combo!
The perfect fall Sunday starts with making apple cinnamon bread with my friend and fellow baking enthusiast Kara!! We spread some homemade pumpkin butter on the slices and it was delicious!
We followed the apple bread recipe from Rachel Mansfield and added apple slices on top before baking.
Here is the recipe for pumpkin butter:
½ cup pumpkin purée
¼ cup apple cider
1 tbsp honey
Dash of cinnamon
Pumpkin pie spice to taste
Splash of vanilla extract
Add ingredients to a pot and bring to a gentle boil over the stove
Stir occasionally and let boil until it thickens (about 20 minutes). I put a paper towel on top so it didn’t splatter everywhere!
Let it cool and refrigerate. It will continue to thicken until it has a spreadable consistency.
